Koinly is one of the fastest-growing crypto tax platforms in the world. Our users are crypto-native, technically minded, and they live online. They're in X threads, Reddit discussions, Discord servers, and niche communities. We need someone who's already there.

We're looking for a Social Media & Community Manager who doesn't just post content but is part of the conversation. Someone who lives in internet culture, understands how crypto communities talk, and can become Koinly's voice on social. Not a scheduler. Not a broadcaster. A participant with a personality. This could be your breakout role!

Role at a glance

  • Mission: Own Koinly's social media presence and community engagement. Be the voice of Koinly online, grow the audience, and make us genuinely present where our users spend their time.
  • Team: Marketing
  • Report to: Content Lead
  • Location: Remote - Worldwide
  • Employment type: Full-time (contractor - B2B)
  • Experience level: Professional social media experience is a plus, but not required if you have a strong personal track record or a personal project.
  • Perks: 32 days PTO, 100% Async culture, flexible schedule, and true autonomy.

🚀 Work within one of the most rapidly growing industries in the world.

Social media ownership

  • Own all social media channels: X/Twitter, Reddit, and any future platforms.
  • Be the voice of Koinly on social. Develop and own the persona. Not corporate speak. Sharp, opinionated, real.
  • Create, schedule, and publish all social content: posts, threads, commentary, insights, memes, carousels, quick graphics. You produce without waiting for a designer.
  • Repurpose content from blog, YouTube, product updates, and crypto news into native social formats. What works on X doesn't work on LinkedIn doesn't work on Reddit. You know the difference.
  • Coordinate with the Content Lead on brand voice alignment, but you don't need per-post approval. You adapt the framework and run.

Community engagement

  • Own community presence across all platforms: Reddit, X, forums, TG channels, Discord if relevant.
  • This is the core of the role. Not broadcasting. Participating. You're in the replies, the threads, the Reddit comments. You engage in crypto and crypto tax conversations because you understand them, not because someone told you to.
  • Monitor crypto and tax conversations and jump in when it makes sense. Know when to engage and when to stay out.
  • Respond to community questions, feedback, complaints. Be present. Be human.
  • Social moves fast. A regulatory announcement, a competitor move, a viral thread, a meme moment. You react in real-time. You don't wait for approval.
  • You have a content rhythm (planned posts, scheduled content) but you leave space for real-time engagement. The balance between planned and reactive is something you manage instinctively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This role is a fit if...

  • You're chronically online. You live in internet culture, whether that's crypto, gaming, developer communities, or niche corners of the internet. You understand how conversations move, how memes spread, and how tone works online. You have a point of view and you're not afraid to share it.

The must-haves

  • You live online. Active on X, Reddit, or other communities in a personal capacity. Your online life isn't separate from your work life. If we check your profiles before the interview, we should see real engagement, not silence.
  • Deeply immersed in crypto. You understand DeFi, staking, on-chain activity, tax implications. Ideally you've filed crypto taxes yourself. You don't need to Google "what is a liquidity pool" to write about it.
  • Community builder, not broadcaster. You can show examples of genuine community engagement: replies, threads, conversations. Not just scheduled posts.
  • Platform-native. You understand that X is not LinkedIn is not Reddit. Content should feel native to each platform, not cross-posted.
  • Creates content independently. Text posts, threads, memes, quick graphics, carousels. You use basic tools (Canva, Figma, whatever) and don't need a designer for every post.
  • Personality-driven. Comfortable being opinionated.
  • Speed. You can react in real-time to what's happening online. You don't wait for approval cycles to post.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a remote, async environment. You set your own content calendar, manage your own engagement, and come with results and plans, not questions.

Bonus points

  • Professional social media experience managing a brand account (but a strong personal track record counts just as much)
  • Experience in crypto communities: not just posting about crypto, but being part of the conversation
  • Experience growing a social account from scratch (brand or personal)
  • Comfortable with video content for social (short clips, stories, reactive video)

Probably not a fit if you:

  • Treat social media as a 9-to-5 marketing channel. Post during work hours, disengage after
  • Only broadcast. No evidence of genuine community engagement or participation
  • Can't produce content independently. Need a designer for every post
  • Post the same content everywhere. No understanding of platform differences
  • Every answer is safe, hedged, or corporate. Afraid to have an opinion
  • Need a content calendar handed to you or regular approval cycles
  • No crypto background and no genuine interest in the space
  • No personal social presence. Hard to trust someone to be Koinly's voice online if they don't live on these platforms themselves

Success outcomes: your first 90 days

The first 30 days: immersion & voice

  • Immersion: Get deep on the product, the audience, and the crypto tax landscape. Understand how Koinly users talk, where they hang out, and what they care about.
  • Voice: Define Koinly's social persona in collaboration with the Content Lead. Not a document that sits in a drive. A voice that shows up in posts.
  • Presence: Start engaging. Jump into conversations on X and Reddit. Show you can participate, not just post.

The 90-day vision

By the end of your first quarter, you have a content rhythm running across platforms. Koinly's social voice is defined and recognisable. Community engagement is visible and consistent. Baseline engagement metrics are captured and you've completed your first competitive share-of-voice assessment. People in the crypto tax space know Koinly is present. The channels are yours and they're alive.
