About Us

Mademoiselle Macaron is a luxury French macaron brand based in Edinburgh. We make beautiful, handcrafted macarons and sell them across the UK: online, through corporate gifting, and for weddings and special occasions as well as for trade clients.

We are a small, founder-led business with a big personality. Our brand is playfully sophisticated, a little bit of accessible luxury, and proudly French-inspired — and our customers genuinely love what we make. We have built something worth being proud of, and now we are looking for someone to help us shout about it properly and show it off across all social media platforms.

Role Overview

As Content Creator, you'll lead the hands-on capture and production of visual content for Mademoiselle Macaron — bringing campaigns, product launches, and key brand moments to life through photography and short-form video. You'll work from briefs set by the Senior Marketing Executive, contributing your own creative ideas within that direction, and focus purely on producing content that's authentically on-brand.

This is a production and ideation role, not a planning one — you won't own the content calendar or campaign strategy. Your focus is capturing great content and bringing fresh creative ideas to how campaigns are visually told.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Capture

  • Shoot and edit photography and short-form video (Reels, TikTok, Instagram) for products, events, weddings, and seasonal campaigns
  • Organise and lead shoots and filming sessions to generate authentic, brand-aligned content — in the studio/kitchen and on location
  • Edit, resize, and format visual assets for use across organic and, where needed, paid social
  • Build finished graphics from captured content (carousels, text overlays, cover images) in Canva, using MM's brand templates
  • Maintain alignment with brand guidelines and tone across all visual output

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Creative Ideas & Campaign Alignment

  • Bring content ideas and creative concepts that support each campaign, launch, or seasonal moment, working within briefs set by the Senior Marketing Executive
  • Suggest formats, angles, and storytelling approaches suited to what's currently working (e.g. founder-led, personal-story content, carousel formats)
  • Flag trend or format opportunities relevant to upcoming campaigns, without owning ongoing trend research

Skills & Experience

  • A strong portfolio of food, product, lifestyle, or event content — Instagram/TikTok examples preferred over polished agency reels
  • Confident shooting and editing both photography and short-form video (phone-shot content is fine if the quality and eye are there)
  • Comfortable turning a brief into a finished asset independently, without heavy direction
  • Proficient in Canva and/or Adobe tools (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent
  • Some flexibility for event-based shoots outside standard hours (weddings, seasonal launches), agreed in advance
  • Based in or able to regularly travel to Edinburgh
  • A genuine feel for warm, personal, "accessible luxury" brand tone

Brand Notes

Playfully sophisticated, accessible luxury, your moment our priority. Never "macaroons". French flourishes used sparingly. Minimal exclamation marks.

Success Metrics

This role is measured on output and reliability, not on social performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) — those sit with the Senior Marketing Executive, who controls captioning, timing, and paid support.

  • Volume: an agreed number of finished stills/Reels/TikToks delivered per week, calibrated to the 2-day week
  • Turnaround time: brief to finished asset within an agreed window
  • Usability rate: content usable as delivered, without major rework
  • Brief adherence: on-brand within the first or second pass

How to Apply

Send a short portfolio, a couple of Instagram/TikTok links or a small selection of your best work along with your availability to mm@mademoisellemacaron.co.uk with the subject line Content Creator Application.

A CV is welcome but not required; we're more interested in seeing what you've shot and edited than reading about it. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short paid trial brief before any offer is made. We will review applications on a rolling basis.

Cultural fit is as important to us as skillset and if you think you can live and breathe macarons, we'd love to hear from you even if you don't have all the experience listed.
