Social Media Content Creator - Volunteer

Volunteer - Social Media Content Creator

School of Sexuality Education

We’re a charity seeking a passionate volunteer to create and manage engaging social media content that spreads awareness about our mission and fosters inclusive conversations around sex, relationships, and education.

What Difference Will You Make?

As a volunteer, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

  • Raising awareness of the charity’s work and challenging myths and taboos.
  • Helping reach key stakeholders, including teachers, donors, and funders.
  • Enhancing our social media presence to empower young people through inclusive Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

What Are We Looking For?

We’re searching for individuals with:

  • A keen interest in 教育 (education) and its transformative impact, particularly inclusive RSE.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms and creating engaging content.
    • Experience in developing social media strategies that align with organisational goals.
    • Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Instagram Insights, Facebook Analytics).
    • Ability to manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines.
    • Critical thinking, problem-solving and adaptability.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva.
    • Commitment to designing content that reflects the charity’s values.
    • Experience planning social media content calendars.
    • Attention to detail and a knack for accuracy.

What Will You Be Doing?

This volunteer position entails:

  • Creating and curating fun, engaging social media posts that raise awareness of our charity’s impact.
  • Managing and improving our current social media presence (e.g., reviewing accounts, boosting engagement).

Responsibilities

  • Audit our social media accounts and recommend changes to elevate content quality.
  • Contribute to our social media calendar—planning campaigns, posts, and upcoming content.
  • Schedule and post content regularly across our platforms.
  • Analyse and track the success of posts and campaigns using performance metrics.
  • Develop or coordinate the creation of appealing visuals (either independently or with our illustrator).
  • Engage with followers by fostering discussions and interaction online.
  • Ensure all content aligns with our inclusive approach, working closely with charity staff.
  • Provide weekly progress updates to the Senior Leadership Team.

Commitment: 1–2 hours per week.
