Director of Social

Ready to lead one of the UK's most ambitious social media transformations?

UKTV is looking for an exceptional Director of Social to join on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, starting September 2026 to help drive social monetization.

As the senior social media leader within the business, you'll define and deliver the strategy that drives audience growth, engagement, cultural relevance and commercial success across UKTV's brands. From building fandom and growing communities around U, to accelerating YouTube revenue and shaping award-winning social-first campaigns, you'll be at the heart of our digital future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting UKTV's social media vision and growth strategy
  • Leading and inspiring a high-performing team of 11 social media specialists
  • Driving audience growth, engagement, and monetisation across platforms
  • Building commercially impactful, social-first campaigns
  • Developing strategic relationships with major social platforms
  • Championing innovation, AI adoption, and creative excellence
  • Representing social at executive and board level

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven track record of delivering audience growth and social revenue
  • Has led high-performing social, digital, or content teams at scale
  • Lives and breathes social media, culture, TV, and entertainment
  • Combines strategic leadership with commercial acumen
  • Can influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational change
  • Uses data, insights, and creativity to deliver measurable business outcomes
