About the Role
The Social Media Editor (Luxury) creates high-impact content that drives audience growth, e-commerce success, and supports commercial opportunities. This role is primarily focused on Instagram as the key channel and is centred on hands-on video production including:
- Pitching ideas
- Script writing
- Filming (on/off-site)
- Editing
This position will report to the Head of Social Strategy (Editorial) and operate as part of a broader editorial social team.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Duties

Grow the Luxury audience: Develop and execute a video-led strategy to increase reach and followers by spotlighting our Luxury team’s personalities and expertise.

Drive revenue: Produce high-quality, platform-optimised video and imagery designed specifically to:
- Boost e-commerce conversions
- Increase affiliate clicks
- Direct traffic to commercial partners

Commercial strategy: Lead the execution of best-of guides, luxury gift lists, and product reviews to maximise:
- Affiliate revenue
- E-commerce growth

Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with the Editorial Luxury team and commercial teams to align social output with:
- Campaigns
- Publication calendars

Focus on native social growth irrespective of platform-specific optimisation

Performance analytics: Monitor and report on:
- Audience metrics
- Advocate for best-in-class visual storytelling

Brand alignment: Ensure all content aligns with:
- High-end luxury aesthetic
- Authoritative voice synonymous with Times Luxury

Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills

Luxury expertise:
- Proven experience creating social content for high-end needs (luxury publications, retailers, or premium brands).
- Deep psychological understanding of luxury consumers.
- Hands-on deficiency in placing people as focal elements of.video productions.

Short-form video expertise:
- Advanced filming and video editing skills (high-end, objective filmmaking over promotional)
- Experience in crafting editorial-focused content

E-commerce track record: Demonstrated ability to:
- Drive tangible revenue through social platforms
- Success in affiliate marketing or direct-to-consumer sales

Technical proficiency:
- Deep knowledge of video editing software
- Familiarity with social commerce tools
- Bonus points for affiliate platform experience

Stakeholder management:
- Ability to balance the expectations of:
- Advertisers
- Editorial criteria
