The Role
Could you turn a router cutter into a viral TikTok? Make workshop advice stop the scroll? Inspire the next generation of tradespeople and makers with a single post?
Trend Tool Technology is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Executive to join our Marketing team and support the delivery of our growing social media and content strategy.
You don't need to tick every box. If you're passionate about social media, love creating content, and are keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm who we can help develop into a confident and experienced brand-led content creator.
If you are a keen tool user or have an affinity with woodworking, carpentry or trades, then this could be the perfect role.
Trend is an agile tools and accessories business on a strong growth trajectory, with ambitious plans for the years ahead. As part of our Social First approach, social media sits at the heart of how we communicate with customers, retailers, influencers, and the wider woodworking community.
Working closely with the Content Creator Manager, you'll help create, publish and manage content across Trend's social channels while monitoring performance, identifying opportunities and ensuring activity aligns with wider business objectives.
The role will be based at our Watford HQ, with occasional travel to trade shows, customer workshops, filming locations, and industry events.
We're committed to building a diverse team and believe different perspectives make us stronger. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, particularly those who are currently underrepresented within our industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Trend's social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Create, schedule and publish content across Trend's social media platforms.
- Write engaging social media copy for product launches, promotions, educational content and campaigns.
- Assist with capturing content at trade shows, training events, product demonstrations and in-house or on location shoots.
- Monitor social media channels and support community management through comments, messages, and customer interactions.
- Identify relevant social trends, content opportunities, and emerging platform features.
- Assist with influencer, creator and ambassador outreach where required.
- Liaise with external agencies, retailers, and product distributors to ensure social media activity aligns with wider business objectives.
- Support paid social campaigns and lead generation activity alongside the wider marketing team.
- Track social media performance and assist with weekly and monthly reporting.
- Assist the Content Creator Manager to ensure social activity is aligned with Trend's wider commercial and marketing objectives.
- Alert the wider business to upcoming campaigns and social activity to maximise engagement and participation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
