ROLE OVERVIEW:
We're looking for a Social Media Executive to own and drive ThruDark's social presence across key platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how to blend brand storytelling, cultural relevance, and performance thinking to grow an audience and move product.
You'll bring the brand to life daily across social, translating ThruDark's identity into content that connects and converts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Content and Channel Management
- Own day-to-day management of ThruDark's social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
- Schedule and publish content in line with the brand calendar, tailoring delivery for platform-specific demographics
- Ensure consistency in tone of voice, visual identity, and brand positioning across every post

Content Creation
- Lead social-first content (photo and video) across product, training, expeditions, and community, optimised for the platform it's intended for
- Capture and create behind-the-scenes content across all of the above
- Edit short-form video content for performance (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
- Work closely with the creative and brand teams to deliver campaigns at pace
Community and Engagement
- Manage community interactions, DMs, and comments in a timely, brand-appropriate way
- Moderate and grow the ThruDark Facebook community, fostering high-value discussions among brand advocates
- Build relationships with key members of the ThruDark community
- Identify and engage with emerging voices aligned to the brand
- Spot cultural moments worth owning and move quickly when they arise
Performance and Optimisation
- Track and report on channel performance: reach, engagement, follower growth, conversion
- Optimise content based on platform trends and what the data tells you
- Support the paid social team with organic learnings and content performance data, specifically identifying winning organic posts for paid amplification
Campaign Support
- Execute social rollouts for product launches and brand campaigns
- Support ambassador and partnership amplification across channels
- Keep organic and paid activity aligned

Requirements
- 2 to 4 years' experience in a social media role, ideally within apparel, performance, or lifestyle brands
- Deep understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube and what makes content work on each
- Strong eye for content: what performs, what doesn't, and why
- Experience shooting and editing content (iPhone + Adobe Suite or CapCut)
- Highly organised, able to work at pace and manage competing priorities
- Commercially aware: understands how social contributes to brand and revenue growth
- A genuine interest in performance, endurance, or outdoor culture
Desirable
- Experience working with ambassadors or creators
- Basic understanding of paid social
- Experience at a high-growth DTC brand
