Social Media Executive
Location: Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, HG2 8NZ Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: £24,000 Reports to: Digital Marketing Manager
About the Role
Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for social media, content creation, and connecting with diverse audiences? We’re looking for a Social Media Executive to help bring Great Yorkshire Showground’s brands to life online.
This is an exciting opportunity to nurture and grow social media channels across the Great Yorkshire Showground, with a **focus on Fodder, while supporting:
- Great Yorkshire Show
- Great Yorkshire Events Centre
- Pavilions of Harrogate
- Harrogate Caravan Park.
You’ll plan, create, schedule, and report on engaging content across multiple platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional colleagues, you’ll develop lively, relevant, and creative campaigns that boost brand awareness, engagement, and support the broader marketing strategy.
Working across audiences including corporate clients, consumers, farmers, producers, and show visitors, you’ll adapt your tone of voice and approach to each.
Responsibilities
- Creating lively, interesting, and engaging social media campaigns across multiple brands and platforms.
- Producing a variety of content, including:
- Copywriting
- Photography
- Video editing (short-form)
- Reels
- Stories
- TikToks
- Simple graphics using tools like Canva.
- Editing ready-to-post short-form video content using CapCut or a preferred editing tool.
- Scheduling content and managing day-to-day social media channels effectively.
- Monitoring audience engagement and responding directly to online conversations where appropriate.
- Liaising with cross-functional teams to align social media strategy and action.
- Tracking, analysing, and reporting on social media performance using tools like:
- Sprout Social
- Facebook/Instagram Insights.

Requirements & Qualifications
We’re seeking a creative, organised, and adaptable professional who:
- Thrives working across diverse audiences and content formats.
- Works well in teams and under pressure, with a natural ability to bring fresh, engaging ideas to creative and digital outputs.
- Supports a holistic and joined-up social media marketing strategy.
More specifically, we’re looking for candidates with:
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience managing corporate and/or commercial social media channels, including:
- X (Twitter)
- TikTok
- Experience in creating, filming, and editing content for social platforms.
- Confidence using:
- Social media scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, later alternatives).
- Analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Facebook/Instagram Insights).
- Experience utilising Sprout Social (or a similar social media management platform).
- A demonstrable track record of delivering high-impact, audience-tailored social media campaigns.
- Strong understanding of different platforms, trends, and audience behaviours.
- Ability to adapt content tone and style for various demographics.
