Social Media Manager (Part-Time / Equity-Based) – Blackboard

Location: West London (Field-based across the Richmond-to-Kingston corridor / Remote)
Type: Part-Time (Flexible / Set your own schedule)
Compensation: Milestone-Vested Equity Schedule
Experience: Social Media Management, Content Strategy, Community Growth (Tech/Hospitality background preferred)

About Blackboard

Blackboard is a real-time marketplace app built to bridge the gap between standout hospitality venues and consumers. Hospitality isn't static, and neither are we. Instead of rigid, high-commission discounts, we give operators a live "blank canvas" straight from their phones to drop flash, time-limited, or quantity-limited "Insider Rates" right when they need to.

Our tagline is Spontaneity on Tap. Whether it’s a morning coffee deal at a local café, a mid-week drop at a craft beer bottle shop, a dinner special at a neighbourhood eatery, or a last-minute entry to a late-night venue with live music, Blackboard is the live pulse of the community. We are a lean, bootstrapped founding team moving fast across South West London with massive ambitions to scale, and we want a partner to take absolute ownership of our digital footprint.

The Role

This is a true ground-up, sleeves-rolled-up social media role. We are not looking for someone to sit behind a desk scheduling dry corporate graphics. We want an ambitious, creative operator who is ready to take the ball and run with it, setting a fearless social strategy and owning the results from day one. You could be a recent graduate looking to make impressive steps in the startup world, or a hugely experienced professional who wants to build something truly meaningful on the side.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will be working hand-in-hand with our in-house videographer, our founding directors, our growth lead, and our account managers. Your remit spans Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok, with one clear mission: reach for the stars. You will directly impact channel growth, turn local attention into app downloads, and blow up brand awareness for hospitality operations of all sizes.

What You’ll Be Driving:

  • Street-Level Buzz & Co-Growth: Working directly with our Growth Lead to find and maximize opportunities across the patch. Whether it is building our own events, attending local fixtures, or creating a buzz out on the pavements out of thin air, you will be there to capture and amplify it.
  • Innovative Partnerships: Finding and locking in partnerships with up-and-coming F&B brands, local interest groups, events, and innovative routes to get our brand directly in front of potential users and grow the platform.
  • Boots on the Ground Content Capture: Getting out onto the high street and into our partner venues. You will be on the front lines capturing the true variety of the app. From independent cafés, craft beer bottle shops, and eateries to bustling pubs, bars, groups, and late-night spots.
  • Showcasing Spontaneity on Tap: Running our channels with a performance mindset. Every reel, TikTok, and post should capture the real-time nature of the platform, driving the message home that if someone is stepping out for food, drink, music, or events, they need to check Blackboard first.
  • Social Partnerships & Community Management: Forging digital partnerships with creators, lifestyle pages, and operator networks. You will live in the comments and DMs, turning Blackboard into the definitive voice of the hospitality scene.
  • B2B Authority on LinkedIn: Showcasing our data, high-street wins, and venue success stories to build deep trust with future operators, groups, and the wider tech/hospitality ecosystem.

  • The Hustle: You possess a gritty, bootstrapped mindset. You know how to make a massive splash with minimal spend through sharp humour, cultural relevance, and sheer consistency.
  • The DNA: You understand social algorithms inside out, but more importantly, you understand people. You know exactly what content cuts through the digital noise to make people discover and support great venues. A background or deep passion for tech, live music, and the broader hospitality industry is essential.
  • The Situation: You are based in or highly mobile across West London (Richmond, Kingston, Teddington, Twickenham, Surbiton) and want a high-upside equity role that fits alongside your current commitments.

The Rewards

We are building this from the ground up, and we want the team driving our culture to own a piece of it. This role is compensated via a milestone-vested equity schedule. As you hit pre-agreed targets regarding channel growth, engagement, and user acquisition metrics, your equity stake locks in, aligning your long-term upside directly with the success of the business.
