Social Media Manager
Social Media Manager – Master of Malt (Atom Group)
Join one of the UK's most loved drinks brands. At Master of Malt, we're known for our incredible range of spirits, expert knowledge, and a voice that feels more like a trusted friend than a retailer. We're looking for a passionate Social Media Manager to own and shape our social strategy, helping us turn our channels into powerful commercial and brand-building assets.
The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for crafting engaging, platform-native content, growing meaningful communities, and fostering creator relationships that drive real business impact. We're shaping the social presence for:
- Master of Malt Retail
- Master of Malt Trade
- Key Atom brands, including Bathtub Gin and Drinks by the Dram
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and lead our social media strategy across Retail, Trade, and first-party brands
- Own strategy execution across all platforms, tailoring approaches to niche audiences:
- Whisky/malt enthusiasts
- Hospitality buyers
- Creative drinkers and influencers
- Balance editorial content (storytelling, releases) with commercial activity and community engagement
- Identify emerging platform opportunities where audiences are growing
- Relaunch and expand Master of Malt Trade’s online presence
Content Creation & Execution
- Lead platform-specific content production for Instagram, TikTok, and other channels
- Collaborate with production and creative teams to translate ideas into high-impact posts
- Grow TikTok presence through native creative approaches (reels, trends, challenges)
- Ensure all copy/copy aligns with Master of Malt’s tone: knowledgeable, engaging, never corporate
- Partner with influencers, creators, and brand advocates to scale reach

Community Building
- Foster engaged communities that return for:
- Recommendations
- New releases
- Expert insights
- Conversations
- Develop relationships with drinks writers, bartenders, and brand partners
- Manage day-to-day engagement and convert followers into brand advocates
Measurement & Optimisation
- Define and track meaningful KPIs beyond vanity metrics
- Generate insightful reporting and share learnings across the business
- Act as in-house social media expert on platform trends, algorithm shifts, and opportunities
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience managing and growing high-performing organic channels for consumer drinks/retail brands
- Experience in DTC ecommerce or premium whisky/drinks sector
- Strong social-first content creation, including short-form video, carousels, and creative posts
- Track record of building actively engaged online communities
- Confident working with influencer/collaborator partnerships
- Experience with social analytics platforms (Sprout Social preferred)
- Proactive with a collaborative, cross-team mindset

- Passion for drinks culture (spirits, cocktails, wine)
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
- Experience managing multiple overlapping brand voices/tone adjustments
