Elton & Walshaw Football Club

Social Media Manager (Volunteer – Possibly future paid role depending on experience)

About the Club

Elton & Walshaw Football Club is a thriving grassroots football club committed to providing a positive, inclusive and enjoyable environment for players of all ages and abilities. We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Manager to help grow our online presence, celebrate our teams, and engage with our members and the local community.

Role Purpose

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning, creating and publishing engaging content across the club's social media platforms. The role will help promote the club's activities, attract new players, volunteers and sponsors, and strengthen communication with members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the club's Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
  • Create engaging posts showcasing matches, training sessions, tournaments and club events.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos during weekends and club activities.
  • Design graphics using platforms such as Canva.
  • Produce reels and short-form videos to increase engagement.
  • Schedule content throughout the week to maintain an active online presence.
  • Promote club events, fundraising activities and registration periods.
  • Celebrate player achievements, milestones and volunteer contributions.
  • Work with coaches and team managers to gather match reports, photographs and news.
  • Respond to messages and comments professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor engagement and suggest ideas to increase followers and reach.
  • Ensure all content follows safeguarding, GDPR and club media policies.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image of Elton & Walshaw FC online.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of Facebook and Instagram.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Creative eye for photography and video.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Reliable and enthusiastic.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing social media for a sports club or business.
  • Experience using Canva, CapCut or Adobe Express.
  • Basic video editing skills.
  • Understanding of grassroots football.

Time Commitment

Approximately 4–8 hours per week, including occasional attendance at weekend matches and club events.
