About the Role
Application Deadline: 31 July 2026 Department: Charities - Trust Engagement Employment Type: Permanent Location: London, Hybrid Compensation: £33,000 – £36,000 per year
Our three hospital charities fundraise to enable Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to deliver exceptional care for its patients. The Social Media Officer plays a key role in driving engaging and effective day-to-day social media strategies across the Foundation’s charity brands.
You’ll work closely with the Social Media Manager to execute strategy by:
- Managing content calendars
- Creating static and video content
- Overseeing daily posting and community engagement
- Ensuring brand consistency across platforms
- Monitoring trends and collaborating with internal teams and partners
This operational and data-driven role includes:
- Analytics-driven reporting (weekly and monthly updates)
- Account administration (user management, paid social processes)
- Data analysis (donations and engagement metrics)
- Hands-on support during fundraising events, including live coverage outside regular working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Social Media Manager in delivering exceptional audience experiences across social channels
- Manage day-to-day organic social media for three charity brands, including content creation (basic static/videos) and community management
- Oversee the social media content calendar, identifying awareness days and planning high-engagement campaigns
- Track performance using social media analytics with regular weekly/monthly reporting
- Develop organic content aligning with strategic and fundraising goals
- Collaborate with colleagues/partners to integrate social media strategies with organisational objectives
- Handle social account administration (data, invoicing, donation reports, basic analytics)
- Provide on-site social media support during events (including weekends)
- Role responsibilities may expand as required, commensurate with your experience.

Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience managing busy content calendars (including brainstorming sessions)
- Hands-on experience creating static and video content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Cross-team collaboration for goal-aligned content
- Community management skills, ensuring positive supporter interactions and brand representation
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Sprout Social or Hootsuite
- Ability to adapt writing tones for multiple brands simultaneously
- Data proficiency, ideally with experience using social analytics and Google Analytics.
