Social Media Officer, GUY'S & ST THOMAS FOUNDATION
Social Media Officer
Our three hospital charities fundraise so that Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust can go above and beyond for their patients. The Social Media Officer focuses on delivering engaging and effective day-to-day social media activity across the Foundation’s charity brands.
This role supports the Social Media Manager in executing the social media strategy by:
- Managing content calendars
- Creating static and video content
- Overseeing daily posting and community management
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality output that strengthens audience connections, supports fundraising, and aligns with brand voice across multiple platforms
- Monitoring trends, contributing content ideas, and collaborating across teams to align social media with organisational objectives
The role also involves an operational and data-driven approach:
- Using analytics to track performance and refine strategies through regular reporting
- Managing social media account administration, supporting paid social processes, and analysing donation/engagement data
- Providing hands-on support for live social media coverage during events, including outside regular working hours
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Social Media Manager to deliver exceptional experiences across our social media channels
- Manage day-to-day organic activity for three charity brands, including content creation (static/video) and community management
- Oversee the content calendar, brainstorming key awareness days, and ensuring engaging, frequent posting
- Generate weekly/monthly analytics reports to guide improvements
- Develop organic social content that supports strategic and fundraising goals
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to align social media with each team’s objectives
- Handle admin tasks such as managing accounts, tracking invoices, and analysing donation/reporting data
- Provide live social media support during fundraising events (including weekends)

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience creating and managing a busy social media calendar, including collaborative brainstorming sessions
- Proven ability to produce static/video content for platforms like Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram
- Skills in cross-team content collaboration, aligning messaging with varied objectives
- Experience with community management, fostering engagement and representing the brand authentically
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite)
- Ability to adapt tone and voice across multiple brands simultaneously
- Data literacy, with experience using social analytics and Google Analytics to inform decision-making
