Social Sustainability Coordinator

Social Sustainability Coordinator

Location: Hybrid (Aberdeenshire or Inverness, with minimum 2 days on-site per week) Company: BAM

About the Role

At BAM, we’re building a sustainable tomorrow and are seeking a Social Sustainability Coordinator to support our Scotland team. This role focuses on delivering BAM’s social sustainability objectives across three key areas:

  • Social Mobility – advancing employment, education, and training opportunities.
  • Foundational Economy – bolstering investment in social enterprises, local businesses, and volunteering initiatives.
  • Social Inclusion – driving community engagement and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan, promote, deliver, monitor, and report on BAM’s social sustainability programmes and commitments.

This is a hybrid role requiring office, home-based, and project site work (two days site-based minimum). We encourage flexible working and positive work-life balance while enabling impactful community contributions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Demonstrate leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to align projects with BAM’s values and customer-focused objectives.
    • Work closely with clients, communities, supply chain partners, VCSE (voluntary, community, social enterprise) organisations, and internal teams.
  • Social Sustainability Delivery

    • Support development and delivery of Social Sustainability strategies, plans, targets, and Local Needs Analyses (LNAs) aligned with client requirements and project objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with social sustainability legislation, government guidance, and sustainability reporting requirements.
    • Coordinate Social Mobility, Foundational Economy, and Social Inclusion activities to meet contractual commitments.
    • Identify opportunities to increase local and marginalised spend (MSMEs, VCSEs) and negotiate social sustainability terms in subcontracts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
