Job Title: Social Value Executive

Salary: £28,000-£32,500 + Benefits

Location: Hybrid working, with team collaboration at our Leeds office once a week on average

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and creative Social Value Executive to join our Corporate Communications team. Sitting within our wider Communications and Brand function, you'll play a key role in bringing our social value strategy to life through engaging storytelling, community funding initiatives and charity partnership campaigns.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who is passionate about making a positive impact in local communities. You will help identify and champion inspiring stories, support charitable giving programmes and create compelling content that showcases the difference we're making across the UK.

Working closely with colleagues across Internal Communications, Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Digital, you'll help amplify our social value activity both internally and externally, driving awareness and engagement with our people, partners and communities.

What You Will Do

  • Support the development and delivery of local community funding initiatives, ensuring funding is allocated in line with our social value strategy and business objectives
  • Identify inspiring community and human-interest stories and transform them into engaging content across internal and external channels
  • Support the delivery of communications campaigns for national charity partnerships and fundraising initiatives
  • Work closely with Corporate Communications Managers to develop content plans across internal communications, PR and social media channels
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to create a pipeline of newsworthy stories and updates
  • Create briefs for the in-house studio team and external agencies to support campaign delivery
  • Administer charitable funding programmes, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting and governance of funding allocations
  • Maintain and update communications channels, helping to raise awareness and understanding of our social value strategy
  • Research, draft and coordinate content for a variety of audiences and platforms
  • Lead and support fundraising events and activities to drive engagement and increase charitable contributions
  • Monitor communications activity, including press coverage and social media performance, providing regular reporting and insights
  • Support website content updates and general communications administration
  • Travel to other sites to support key business moments and events

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree educated or equivalent industry experience
  • Previous experience within a communications, PR, social media or corporate communications role
  • A genuine passion for social value, community engagement and charitable initiatives
  • Excellent copywriting, proofreading and storytelling skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working within a large, complex organisation would be advantageous
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach and an eye for identifying compelling stories
  • Excellent planning, organisation and project coordination skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot would be beneficial
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing business needs
