About the Role
Salary: £44,075 - £49,282 per annum Type: Permanent Full Time (37 hours per week) Base Location: Thoresby House, Sherwood Energy Village, NG22 9FF Work Pattern: Hybrid
We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join the court team within The Children and Families Department at Nottinghamshire County Council. The department works under “Our Nottinghamshire Approach”, a strengths-based model for children, young people, and families. This role focuses on court-based assessments and interventions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children in care proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous assessments for both private and public law court cases, compiling expert reports.
- Collaborate with families, legal teams, and partner agencies to inform court decisions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor care plans, assessing child well-being.
- Act as advocate and court support for vulnerable children and families.

Requirements
Essential: ✔ Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration ✔ Significant experience in child protection and court-based assessments ✔ Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Essential mental capabilities:
- Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Alignment with the safeguarding principles of Nottinghamshire County Council.
