Job Details
This is an exciting time to join the Children, Families Social Work Service in Fife. We have redesigned our service to create a range of Early Help & Support and Enhanced Children & Families Teams. This has allowed us to focus on earlier intervention, community connections and the quality of service for children who are looked after or require a child protection plan. We are currently recruiting for the Early Help & Support Central Team based in Kirkcaldy also covering areas in Cowdenbeath and Glenrothes (must be able to travel throughout Fife).
As a Social Worker you will have a lead role in delivering our Families First Strategy, working alongside children and their families to help them get the right support at the right time, to achieve their potential and succeed.
As part of a team of social work and multi-agency partners, you will bring enthusiasm, creativity, compassion and effective problem-solving skills to:
- Deliver strengths based and person-centred support at the earliest opportunity to prevent and reduce family crisis and support inclusion in the wider community.
- Undertake trauma informed assessment of risk and need to inform effective and outcome focused plans.
- Support timely planning as the lead professional in Team Around the Child meetings, Child Protection Planning Meetings, Looked after Children Reviews and Children’s Hearings.
- Use a Partnership approach for effective multi-agency working to deliver an accessible whole family service.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
