Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding

Our client based in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Adult Social Worker to join their dedicated Adult Safeguarding Team. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role requiring a confident practitioner with strong risk management capabilities, sound legal knowledge, and experience working with complex safeguarding concerns. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults, leading safeguarding enquiries, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective outcomes. This opportunity is ideal for a Social Worker who thrives in investigative environments and is confident in making defensible decisions under pressure. Key Responsibilities Leading and coordinating Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely and proportionate responses to concerns of abuse or neglect. Undertaking risk assessments and safeguarding investigations, gathering evidence and making informed decisions to reduce risk and promote safety. Applying relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, ensuring all interventions are lawful and proportionate. Completing MCA assessments and Best Interest decisions where required, particularly within complex safeguarding contexts. Working closely with multi-agency partners including police, health professionals, care providers, and legal teams to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses. Preparing clear, analytical reports and presenting findings at strategy meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency forums. Working with adults who have a range of needs, including Mental Health, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and older people at risk of harm. Promoting Making Safeguarding Personal principles, ensuring individuals are at the centre of all safeguarding interventions. Qualifications & Experience Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW. Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England. Experience: Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience, including significant safeguarding experience. Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding frameworks, and risk management processes. Skills: Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations. Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a car typically required for visits across the locality. Why Liquid Personnel?
