Qualified Social Worker – Adult Social Care Mental Health (Fixed-Term Maternity Cover)
About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and resilient Qualified Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care Mental Health Team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.
Your role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred support, tailored to the diverse needs of:
- Individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges
- Their informal carers and families
You will ensure all assessments and support plans comply fully with the Care Act 2014, placing wellbeing principles at the heart of your practice.
Our approach is strengths-based, empowering residents to lead fulfilling, independent lives while adhering to statutory guidelines. We are looking for passionate practitioners committed to supporting adults with complex care needs to thrive.

Candidates must hold:
- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Current registration with Social Work England

About You
Essential Requirements
- Must hold a qualification in social work, including one of the following:
- BSc/MA in Social Work
- Dip SW/HE
- CQSW
- Good demonstrable understanding of:
- Enhanced DBS check (mandatory)
- Degree level or equivalent education or equivalent relevant work experience

Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of social work models & interventions, especially strengths-based practice
- Understanding of discriminated groups and the ability to tailor services to meet their needs
