Make a Real Difference

As part of the Safeguarding Team, you'll play a crucial role in protecting vulnerable children and helping families achieve lasting positive change.

You'll:

  • Manage a varied and rewarding caseload across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) services.
  • Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and interventions that deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with children and families while ensuring their voices remain central to decision-making.
  • Lead safeguarding processes, chair CIN and Core Group meetings, and contribute to court proceedings where required.
  • Work closely with education, health, police, and other key partners to deliver coordinated support.
  • Support and mentor ASYE and student social workers, sharing your expertise and helping others develop.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking passionate and resilient practitioners who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.

You'll have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Post-qualified experience within children's safeguarding services
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Experience managing complex and high-risk cases with confidence and professionalism
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using systems such as Liquidlogic, Mosaic, CareFirst, or ICS
  • Additional expertise in areas such as contextual safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, domestic abuse, or supporting asylum-seeking families would be highly advantageous
