Salary £40,777 - £46,142 | Full-time, 37 hours per week | International Sponsorship Available
About the Role
We are recruiting Dynamic, qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) within Lancashire County Council’s Mental Health Service. As a critical component of our 24-hour service, you will operate with confidence, autonomy, and expertise in the Mental Health Act and associated legislation.
This fast-paced, county-wide role involves flexible shift patterns, typically starting in the afternoon and extending into nights, including one weekend a month. Your duties include:
- Conducting assessments for individuals experiencing mental health crises
- Supporting social care processes and collaborating with external partners (e.g., health services, police, courts, and housing)
- Ensuring coordinated and timely responses to meet statutory intervention needs with minimal notice

Requirements & Obligations
To qualify, candidates must meet the following:
- Registration: You must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) or have completed the application process (equivalent registration through HCPC/NMC applies for non-social work AMHPs). Commencement of duties is conditional on securing registration.
- DBS Check: This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974, updated 2013). A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required if successful.
- Transport & Insurance: You must provide a car for work purposes with business insurance. However, we may accommodate candidates without a disability-related driving restriction.
