Children's Social Worker
Location: Central Lancashire – Preston & Chorley
Salary: £35,235 - £39,513 per annum (Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week)
Duty & Assessment Team – Children’s Social Care
Role Summary
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers (minimum 12 months Social Work experience) to join our Duty & Assessment Team in Central Lancashire, as we enhance our Children’s Services through stration-based practice and Family Safeguarding approaches.
This dynamic role offers the opportunity to assess and support children and families in need while contributing to a supportive and professionally developing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Roles will include but are not limited to:
- Conducting initial risk assessments for children and families
- Co-ordinating assessments related to potential safeguarding concerns
- Supporting families with policy implementation, professional engagement, and case reviews
- Developing multi-agency plans for improved outcomes
- Representing the authority in Family Court proceedings
- Producing the ** assessment reports to help assess risk and plan action**
- Establishing working relationships with schools, health professionals, and children and young people

Requirements
- Qualification: Degree in a social work-related field or equivalent.
- Registration: Mandatory registration as a qualified social worker with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum 12 months of Social Work practice as an Assessed & Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)level professional.
- DBS Browser: Disclosure to the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be required.
- Driving ability: Must be able to use a **business-use car ** or provide alternative accommodations within reasonable adjustments for disabilities.
