Senior Social Worker – Prevention Service
This is an incredibly exciting time to join our service. We have launched Living Better Lives in Lancashire, our new strengths-based vision for Adult Social Care. Through this, we are embedding innovative practice that will make a real difference to the lives of people in our communities.
We are looking for Senior Social Workers to support us in delivering our vision: helping people achieve what matters to them while living independently in a place they call home.
About the Role
Collaboration and co-production are at the heart of what we do, working alongside partners, community organisations, carers, and—most importantly—the people we support to create meaningful, personalised outcomes.
As a Social Worker within our Prevention Service, your role will be vital in supporting individuals at their earliest point of need. You will provide:
- Information, advice, guidance, and strengths-based support
- Access to the right help at the right time
- Focus on prevention, wellbeing, and community strengths to enable people to stay independent for longer
The hours are 37 per week, with a schedule of 1 in 4 weekends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
