Senior Social Worker – Prevention Service
We have launched Living Better Lives in Lancashire, our new strengths-based vision for Adult Social Care. Embedding innovative practice, we aim to make a real difference to the lives of people in our communities by enabling them to live independently in a place they call home.
Collaboration and co-production are central to our approach, working in partnership with community members, carers, organisations, and individuals to shape meaningful outcomes.
The Role
As a Senior Social Worker within our Prevention Service, you will work with individuals at the earliest stage of need:
- Provide information, advice, guidance, and strengths-based support
- Focus on prevention, wellbeing, and personal/community strengths
- Support people to remain independent for longer by accessing appropriate services at the right time
This is a 37-hour per week position, including 1 weekend shift in every 4 rotations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
