Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Social Worker

Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Social Worker for its client’s Adults Learning Disabilities Team based in Somerset. You will support adults with learning disabilities through person-centred assessments, care planning, and safeguarding, promoting independence and positive outcomes.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with partner agencies to deliver effective, strengths-based interventions in line with statutory duties.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertake Care Act assessments, reviews and risk assessments for adults with learning disabilities and their carers
  • Manage a caseload of varying complexity, responding to referrals and prioritising need effectively
  • Develop and review person-centred care and support plans, promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Carry out safeguarding enquiries and manage risk in line with statutory duties
  • Support individuals in crisis, applying appropriate legislation to achieve timely outcomes
  • Apply the Mental Capacity Act, including Best Interests decision-making where required
  • Assess carers’ needs and implement appropriate support plans
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain up-to-date case records
  • Work collaboratively with families, advocates and multi-agency partners
  • Facilitate and coordinate care packages with providers across statutory and independent sectors
  • Participate in team duty rota and contribute to service delivery

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, or MA) or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Relevant experience within Adult Social Care, ideally within a Learning Disabilities setting
  • Experience managing complex cases, including safeguarding and risk
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams and with partner agencies
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Human Rights Act
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and report-writing ability
  • Ability to manage workload and competing priorities
  • Competent IT skills for case recording and data management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to Somerset’s rural nature)
