Social Worker – Learning Disabilities Team

Starting salary: £37,280 (rising annually up to £41,777)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Full-time) Annual leave: 30 days Eligibility: Closed roles for experienced practitioners

As a Social Worker within the Learning Disabilities team, you will:
- Foster strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
- Support individuals in assessing and managing needs, risk, and independence.
- Develop personalised care plans under Care Act 2014.
- Champion dignity, inclusion, and choice for vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Conduct strengths-based assessments of adults with learning disabilities and their carers, considering complex risks and support needs.
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring personalised, proportionate care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Guide individuals and families in making informed decisions about care and support.
- Build effective relationships with partner agencies (health, housing, voluntary organisations).
- Respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring robust protection measures while promoting autonomy.
- Deliver crisis intervention with adherence to legislative frameworks.
- Collaborate in multi-agency teams for cohesive, person-centred support strategies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with policy and legislation.

What We’re Looking for – Essential Criteria
You must demonstrate: ✔ Surtees Speno B enclosed knowledge or robust alternative commitment in the adult learning disabilities field. ✔ Registered Social Worker status with Social Work England. ✔ Understand the Care Act 2014 and social work ethics. ✔ Strong ability to manage risk, prioritise complex needs, and collaborate in diverse teams. ✔ A deep connection with values of empathy and holistic care. ✔ Ability to allay anxiety in potentially vulnerable clients.
Desirable traits (a plus, but not mandatory):
- Clinical experience across multiple sectors (health, housing, education).
- Experience in marking role or_PORT 1999.

- Confidence navigating organizational change for people-centered care.
