We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Grade 8/9 Social Worker to join our Recruitment & Assessment (R&A) Team within the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) – Adoption Lancashire & Blackpool.

About The Role
As a Recruitment & Assessment Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting prospective adopters throughout their adoption journey. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work closely with families and partner agencies.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Recruiting and assessing prospective adopters
- Preparing and training adopters (pre- and post-approval)
- Supporting adopters throughout the matching process
- Providing ongoing support once children are placed and until the Adoption Order is granted
You’ll be part of a supportive, experienced team that values reflective practice and high-quality social work.

New recruits to Lancashire Children's Services attend our Social Work Academy. One of the first local authorities to set up a Social Work Academy, our programme is well developed and a fantastic support for your first year in practice. This consists of a 1 week induction programme for all staff, with a second week's induction programme for ASYE's. This is followed by regular recall days and training throughout the first year for ASYE's to support increased knowledge and confidence in practice.
The Academy is run by our team of Advanced Practitioners who provide a range of support, training and development across our service to help practice to be at the highest standards.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
