Social Worker – Private Law

Permanent | 37 Hours per Week | Wildwood, Worcestershire

Salary: £33,699 to £41,771 per annum (plus £4,000 annual market forces)

About the Role

Worcestershire County Council is seeking skilled and compassionate Social Workers to join the Pathfinder model rollout, a pioneering initiative that places children’s voices and experiences at the heart of private law family court proceedings.

This transformative pilot programme aims to reduce adversarial, prolonged legal battles by enabling early, constructive resolution for families. As part of this innovative team, you’ll deliver Child Impact Reports to ensure court decisions are grounded in the child’s needs, while fostering lower conflict and faster outcomes.

You’ll collaborate with a proactive, child-focused team, contributing to the future of family justice in Worcestershire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality Child Impact Reports (s.37 reports) aligned with national Pathfinder guidance.
  • Work with children, parents, and carers to understand their experiences, wishes, and feelings during emotionally challenging situations.
  • Liaise effectively with:
    • Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service)
    • Family Courts
    • Partner agencies (e.g., domestic abuse support services)
  • Provide evidence-based, clear recommendations to assist court decisions and family outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate case records in compliance with statutory requirements and local policy.
  • Contribute to service learning and professional development within a supportive team.
  • Support judge-led mediation where appropriate to reduce legal costs and conflict.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
