We are looking for a confident, compassionate & committed Social Worker to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Forestwood. This role will be a full time, with the expectation for the successful applicant to complete 40 hours per week.

The Role
The CAMHS Inpatient Social Worker provides specialist psychosocial assessment, safeguarding leadership, and systemic support to young people admitted to the inpatient unit.
The post-holder acts as a key link between the ward and external agencies, supporting safe discharge planning and promoting the welfare of young people in line with statutory responsibilities.

Cygnet Hospital Forestwood provides a range of acute and low secure mental health services for young people aged 13-18 year-olds.
The hospital is set across four wards offering Acute Mental Health, Eating Disorder and Low Secure Services. You will be part of a supportive MultiDisciplinary Team supporting young people in their treatment and working towards discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with service users, their families and other stakeholders to assist with the recovery process
- Forge links and maintain contact with other statutory agencies
- Lead on the social care needs of service users
- Ensure that service users and their families/carers are aware of their legal rights
- Take an active role in safeguarding within the multidisciplinary team
- Provide written reports to the multidisciplinary team and other professionals
Person Specification
Required
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England professional registration
- Minimum of 2 years experience working within mental health settings, experience of working in inpatient or acute mental health environments is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, safeguarding procedures, and social care frameworks
- Experience with discharge planning and multi-agency collaboration
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills

Desirable
- Experience in CAMHS, inpatient mental health or crisis services.
- Understanding or training in systemic practices and trauma informed care.
- Knowledge of SEND frameworks, care proceedings, CETR and contextual safeguarding.
