Role Overview
As a Sofa Host, you bring Sofa Club to life on the showroom floor, helping create a space that feels like a destination, not just a store. In this part-time role (20 hours per week), you play a key role in delivering both performance and experience, ensuring every customer journey is effortless, inspiring, and memorable, especially during key trading periods.
You take the stress out of sofa shopping, guiding customers with confidence and ease while creating genuine connections. You go beyond selling, styling, storytelling, and curating an experience that feels more like fashion than furniture.
You help set the tone in the showroom, maintaining a space that reflects our bold, design-led brand. From supporting in-store activations to engaging with the local community, you contribute to building energy, excitement, and positioning Sofa Club as an iconic British brand.
You live our values every day: Change the Game by challenging traditional retail, The Power of Us by working as one team, Own It in every interaction, and Keep It Simple by delivering a seamless customer experience.
This is a hands-on, part-time position (20 hours per week) where customer connection meets creativity, bringing energy, style, and impact to every moment on the floor.
In-Store Experience
Create an immediate impact with a warm, confident welcome that sets the tone for a standout, style-led showroom experience, especially during peak weekend trading. Lead a personalised, consultative journey that puts fashion first, making sofa shopping feel effortless, inspiring, and enjoyable. Bring our brand to life by showing customers we’re not just selling sofas, we’re helping them express their style and elevate their homes. Build genuine connections by understanding each customer’s lifestyle, aesthetic, and how they want their space to feel. Confidently guide customers through styles, fabrics, and configurations, curating options that feel considered, relevant, and design-led. Create confidence at every step, ensuring customers feel supported, excited, and certain in their decisions. Take full ownership of the customer journey from first interaction through to order completion and beyond, delivering a seamless experience throughout. Handle all customer queries and challenges with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused mindset that protects the experience. Use your product and styling expertise to recommend solutions that feel effortless, tailored, and on-brand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
