This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Architect [gn] Data Intelligence based in United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the architecture of a modern cloud-based data platform and define the foundations for scalable software delivery.
You will work closely with engineering teams to design systems that are reliable, efficient, secure, and easy to evolve.
The position focuses on reducing technical complexity, improving developer productivity, and ensuring the platform can support future growth.
You will influence architectural decisions across cloud infrastructure, microservices, reliability engineering, and platform operations.
By creating clear standards, reusable tools, and resilient solutions, you will help teams deliver high-quality features faster.
This is an impactful opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.
Accountabilities:
As a Software Architect, you will define and evolve the technical architecture of a cloud-based data platform, ensuring it remains scalable, resilient, cost-efficient, and developer-friendly. You will provide technical direction, establish engineering standards, and help teams build reliable solutions that support long-term product growth.
- Design and continuously improve cloud platform architecture across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments to support scalable, multi-tenant data solutions.
- Build resilient systems with strong fault tolerance, automated recovery capabilities, and reliable production operations.
- Create developer-focused tools, APIs, templates, and frameworks that simplify engineering workflows and improve delivery speed.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure usage and operational costs through effective resource management and platform improvements.
- Identify technical debt and legacy system challenges, creating practical modernization strategies without disrupting ongoing development.
- Define architecture standards, review technical designs, and provide guidance to engineering teams while enabling independent decision-making.
- Embed security principles into platform architecture to protect customer data and support compliance requirements.
- Establish monitoring, observability, and performance measurement strategies to quickly identify and resolve system issues.
- Evaluate emerging technologies through prototypes and technical experiments to determine potential value for future adoption.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced software architect or principal engineer with a strong background in cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, and large-scale data applications. You should combine deep technical expertise with the ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly and influence engineering teams effectively.
- Proven experience as a Software Architect, Principal Engineer, or similar technical leadership role within cloud-based SaaS products.
- Experience designing and operating systems that handle large volumes of data and complex workloads.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architectures, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed messaging systems.
- Understanding of system reliability, scalability, observability, and cloud cost optimization practices.
- Ability to identify technical risks proactively and develop practical solutions that improve platform performance and maintainability.
- Strong developer mindset with a focus on creating tools and processes that improve engineering productivity.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
