About The Role
Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established and growing software business in their search for a Software Developer to join their collaborative engineering team based in Stafford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a modern development environment, primarily utilizing Java and Spring Boot technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, in a supportive and innovative setting.
The ideal candidate will be someone with commercial Java experience who thrives in collaborative Agile teams and is eager to enhance their technical skills. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and stakeholders, to develop high-quality software solutions that have a tangible impact on users and the business. Qualifications
- Proven commercial experience developing software using Java.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or extensive Java experience with exposure to similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative development team environment.
Desirable qualifications include experience with pair programming, exposure to modern CI/CD practices, and prior work within product-focused or regulated industries such as healthcare or SaaS. Candidates with a proactive attitude towards learning and development will find this role particularly suitable.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Engage in code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices across the development team.
- Support the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and development standards to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Work within a team environment that encourages pair programming and knowledge sharing to foster technical growth.
