About The Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Software Developer to join our client’s dynamic team on a 12-month contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects within the aviation industry, supporting the development and enhancement of critical software systems. The successful candidate will be based in Portsmouth, with a hybrid working model requiring presence on-site approximately three days per week. This position is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong background in software development, eager to work in an innovative environment and make a tangible impact within a leading organization.

Qualifications
- Solid educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in software development, particularly within aerospace or similar high-tech sectors
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, version control systems like Git, and Agile practices
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions tailored to the aviation industry
- Analyzing user requirements, creating technical specifications, and implementing software modules that meet quality standards
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, project managers, and quality assurance
- Participating in code reviews, troubleshooting software issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation and adhering to industry safety and security standards
- Adaptable to evolving project needs and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation
