Software Developer – Cyber Security Consultancy

You’ll be joining a growing cyber security consultancy that builds modern web applications used by organisations to protect their systems and data. Their products sit at the intersection of engineering and security, giving developers the chance to work on tools that have real impact in day-to-day cyber defence.

This is a full-stack role for someone who enjoys ownership over their work and thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. You’ll be part of a small team where your ideas genuinely shape the product. If you want to work on meaningful software while developing your security awareness, this is a strong opportunity.

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
  • Location: Remote

  • Building responsive, user-focused web interfaces using React.
  • Developing scalable backend services using Node.js to support core product functionality.
  • Improving application security by:
    • Identifying vulnerabilities
    • Applying secure coding practices
  • Designing and delivering new features from concept to deployment.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions shaping platform evolution.
  • Collaborating with designers and product teams to deliver high-quality releases.
  • Reviewing code to maintain strong engineering standards.
  • Debugging and resolving full-stack issues.
  • Enhancing development processes for greater reliability and speed.

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong commercial JavaScript experience (3–4 years minimum).
  • Proficiency in React for dynamic front-end development.
  • Node.js experience for APIs and backend services.
  • Understanding of web security principles, including:
    • Authentication
    • Authorization
    • Vulnerability mitigation
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Confident use of Git in collaborative environments.
  • Ability to:
    • Solve problems independently
    • Take full ownership of work
  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset.
  • Commitment to secure development practices and high-quality engineering.

  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
