Are you an experienced Software Developer (Android), who is looking to work in a fast-paced, global, market-leading company?

Here at Innovative Technology, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Developer (Android) to join our site-based Software team at our global head office in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

The Software Developer (Android) Role Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality Android applications, supporting existing products, and ensuring that our apps meet the required standards for successful publication and ongoing compliance with Google Mobile Services (GMS) and Google Play policies.

Responsibilities of our Software Developer (Android):

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications
  • Build robust, scalable, and user-friendly mobile features
  • Work with Android SDK, Kotlin and/or Java, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern Android development practices
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders across the business
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical planning
  • Support continuous improvement of code quality, performance, security, and maintainability
  • Manage app releases through the Google Play Console
  • Ensure applications meet Google Play Store submission requirements, including app signing, target API levels, privacy declarations, permissions, store listings, and release policies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to app publishing, rejected submissions, policy warnings, crash reports, and production releases
  • Maintain awareness of GMS requirements, Play Integrity, Google APIs, Firebase services, and Android compatibility standards

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ commercial Android development experience
  • Experience with Kotlin and/or Java
  • Hands-on experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
