The Role: Quality Engineer (QA Automation)
Location: Remote (or local, open to applicants worldwide) Duration: Full-time Team: Quality & Assurance
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end automated test frameworks for our website and mobile applications.
- Drive a platform-wide automated testing strategy focused on reliability, reusability, and extensive test coverage.
- Mentor junior engineers and cultivate a culture of quality excellence across MrQ.
- Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to ensure high-quality releases, with shared ownership of quality gates.
- Conduct manual exploratory testing, particularly for complex workflows and edge cases, to uncover hidden issues.
Requirements
Essential
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and automation, with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Proven proficiency with Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks, using JavaScript/TypeScript for automation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions).
- In-depth knowledge of test strategy, version control, and test data management.
- Strong team player with clear communication skills and a growth mindset.
- Solid background in manual testing, including UX/UI flaw detection, debugging (Postman, browser developer tools, network inspectors).

Nice to Have
- Cloud-based cross-platform testing experience (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Exposure to BDD testing (Cucumber) or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with mobile testing (device compatibility, automation frameworks).
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., k6, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with WebSockets, visual regression testing (Percy) or AI-assisted exploratory testing.
- Overall testing experience including unit/integration tests in microservices or distributed environments.
- Background in Agile/Scrum with cross-functional team collaboration.
