Software Developer in Test (SDET) – Mid-Level

Position: Software Developer in Test (SDET) – Mid-Level Reports to: QA Lead Location: We are a remote first organization, +/- 2 hours from UK Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 About MillTech MillTech provides advanced FX and cash management solutions to increase market access, reduce costs and automate manual workflows. With a focus on automation, integration and connectivity, we have pioneered an independent risk management and liquidity solution for fund managers, institutions and global corporates, which is purpose-built to deliver best execution at scale. Our end-to-end operational workflow enables automation, standardisation and cost transparency on all FX transactions and cash movements. A highly secure platform centralises all client FX and cash activities to enhance oversight whilst increasing control, all at no additional costs. It offers quick onboarding routes, multi-bank best execution and hedging management services. Headquartered in London, the world’s largest FX hub, MillTech provides services to clients in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway and Liechtenstein. MillTech is authorised and regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA FRN 911636) and registered with the USA’s National Futures Association (NFA). Your mission Over the last couple of years, we have rapidly scaled. Growing our client base, product set and team. We move large sums of money around, and because of this, quality is key to everything we do. You will work as part of a full-stack product team of product people, designers, engineers, test engineers and subject matter experts to make our vision a reality. Your responsibilities in this role will include: Owning the design, writing and execution of test cases for the features you work on Building and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, and growing the reliability of our regression packs Identifying, reporting and helping resolve issues, working with engineers to get to root cause Collaborating with product and engineering to clarify requirements and feed in a testability perspective early Contributing ideas on test tooling, coverage and process improvements Keeping up with new testing tools and techniques, including effective use of AI tools

Required skills: At least 2 years’ experience in a software testing, QA or SDET role Solid working knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes Hands-on experience writing automated tests with Playwright (or a comparable framework) Working programming ability in JavaScript/TypeScript Good SQL skills — able to write queries to validate data and investigate issues Understanding of how to effectively prompt and utilise AI tools for test planning, documentation, and analysis Experience with both white-box and black-box testing Good spoken and written English, with clear documentation skills A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality A high degree of personal honesty and integrity

Additional skills you may have: Exposure to financial services, fintech or foreign exchange systems AWS and/or Azure experience, particularly around test environment provisioning or cloud-based test execution Experience contributing to test strategy or test architecture discussions Performance or security testing experience

About you: You are past the very beginning of your career but still have plenty of room to grow, and you are excited about that. You can work independently on testing tasks, but you also know when to ask questions and lean on the experience of those around you. You take pride in your work, you care about quality, and you want to be part of a team where you can keep learning and stepping up.
