About The Role
We're recruiting for a Senior Software Developer to join a growing technology organisation delivering innovative software solutions within a secure and highly technical environment.
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you'll be involved in the development of scalable applications, contributing to technical design, mentoring colleagues and helping shape the future direction of software projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and enhance software applications using Java and/or C++.
- Lead technical delivery across key development projects.
- Contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making.
- Develop secure, reliable and maintainable solutions.
- Support the delivery of APIs, services and backend applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
- Mentor and support junior developers.
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and deliver technical requirements.
- Contribute to testing, deployment and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills And Experience
- 5+ years commercial software development experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Strong experience with Java and/or C++.
- Experience developing software within Linux environments.
- Good understanding of software architecture and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience developing backend applications, services or APIs.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience using Git and modern development workflows.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
- Containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Cloud platforms and modern software architectures.
