About the Role
Robotics Developer | £37,682 + Pension
Location: Newcastle, Salford/Telford, or Leeds (moves required for some sites)
As a Robotics Developer, you’ll design, build, and support robotic automation solutions using NICE Real Time Designer in an Agile DevOps team. Our robotics team delivers automation that enhances existing systems, adding new functionality and driving cost savings.
This hands-on development role involves creating high-quality, testable automation solutions while supporting live services.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robotic automation solutions to meet business needs
- Work in an Agile team to plan and deliver user stories and technical tasks
- Write clean, secure, well-tested code adhering to modern development principles
- Adhere to and improve engineering standards within the team
- Monitor and resolve production issues, proactively maintaining live services
Potential Line Management Responsibility
- You may support and mentor junior colleagues and apprentices to build team capability.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
You must demonstrate experience in:
- Building automation solutions using NICE RPA (or similar) tools
- Working in Agile development environments
- Applying continuous integration practices, including:
- Unit testing
- Test-driven development
- Version control (Git)
- Conducting testing approaches, such as performance, security, and accessibility
- Supporting or maintaining live services (e.g., using monitoring or observability tools)
- Solving technical problems and improving processes

Desirable Criteria
Experience in:
- NICE Robotics Process Automation
- Working with SQL databases
- API integration into robotic services
- Continuous delivery principles
- Technologies: HTML, JavaScript, SQL, and C# (or similar)
Location Information

Office Closures
If selected for Benton Park View (Newcastle), Telford Plaza (Telford), or Trinity Bridge House (Salford), relocations to new sites are required under future HMRC location strategy:
- Newcastle: Moving to Pilgrims Quarter
- Telford: Migrating to Parkside Court
- Salford/Manchester: Alternative office in the area
Salford/Telford rotes include a Moves Adjustment Payment for current HMRC Bradford-based employees meeting eligibility criteria.
