Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer – GPU Compute (Vulkan / Cross-OS) (f/m/d)

Software Engineering – GPU Architect & Ecosystem Enthusiast

Location: Munich, Germany (with remote flexibility in France, Paris / Ireland, Leixlip / Israel, Haifa / UK, Great Britain) Team: The Software Team (Intel’s AI, graphics, and platform innovation group) Job Type: Experienced Hire Posting Statement: [Equity, diversity, and inclusion notice]

About the Role

Explore a unique Software Engineering opportunity where GPU architecture expertise, software-hardware co-design, and ecosystem enablement converge to shape the future of Intel client graphics. You’ll collaborate with software vendors, ISVs, open-source communities, and Intel’s engineering teams to:

  • Optimise Vulkan-based workloads across Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS.
  • Drive adoption of Intelligence-integrated Graphics (IIG) solutions for content creation, AI/ML acceleration, media, productivity, and commercial applications.
  • Balance CPU, GPU, and NPU execution paths while ensuring seamless integrations.
  • Influence future platforms, architectures, and technologies via direct feedback to Intel’s engineering, software, and product teams.

This role blends deep technical innovation with strategic partnership development, offering a rare intersection of engineering excellence and ecosystem impact.

Responsibilities

You’ll lead the design, development, and optimisation of GPU software solutions with the following key deliverables:

  • Technical Development & Optimization

    • Analyze, prototype, and debug GPU compute software (e.g., shaders, toolchains, runtime optimisations).
    • Benchmark, profile, and optimise performance on Intel platforms vs. competitors (Windows/Linux/ChromeOS).
    • Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) workloads to validate and demonstrate hardware capabilities.
    • Engage in Vulkan-based compute development (including compute shaders, SPIR-V optimisations).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
