Role As the Software Engineering Lead, you will lead the development of a mission-critical software platform that powers complex automation systems. Managing a small, high-performing engineering team, you will define technical direction, shape the product roadmap, and remain hands-on in delivering production-quality software.
You'll work closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to build scalable applications, guide architectural decisions, and ensure successful delivery of key milestones. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a small software engineering team while fostering high engineering standards.
- Own technical planning, development priorities, and delivery processes.
- Contribute hands-on across the full software development lifecycle, including feature development and code reviews.
- Partner with leadership to define roadmaps, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Support hiring, resource planning, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Solve complex technical challenges within software systems that interact closely with real-world hardware and automation.
Key Skills
- Proven experience leading software delivery within small, agile engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on software engineering background using modern technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React, or similar frameworks.
- Experience developing software for hardware-integrated, robotics, industrial, or automation environments is advantageous.
- Track record of delivering complex technical projects from design through production.
- Comfortable remaining hands-on while providing technical leadership and mentoring.
- Experience working within startup or high-growth technology environments.
- Passion for AI, robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Bonus: Experience developing software for physical systems, robotics, or industrial equipment.
