Software Engineer

Software Engineer – USA Tech Team

Overall Ambition

Solve some of today's complex hospitality problems by creating innovative solutions using an open technology toolset.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our passionate, lean, agile, fast-growing, evolving, and tech-loving team on a permanent basis. The projects we are working on are innovative and will change the fast-casual dining experience forever.

Living the Nando’s Values

As a Nandoca, you'll embody the values that make Nando’s unique. We are looking for people who:

  • Pride – Take ownership of their work, hold themselves to high standards, and care deeply about delivering quality outcomes.
  • Passion – Bring energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm to solving problems and creating great customer experiences.
  • Courage – Challenge the status quo, embrace change, and make informed decisions, even when faced with uncertainty.
  • Integrity – Act with honesty, transparency, and accountability in everything they do.
  • Family – Collaborate openly, support teammates, and contribute to an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

These values shape how we work together, make decisions, and build technology that moves Nando’s forward.

The Role

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining innovative solutions using the latest tools and technologies.

Software Engineers work in conjunction with Technical Leads, focusing on delivering through the entire technical stack — whether backend services, systems integrations, or rich user interfaces.

You will relish tackling and solving tough problems and seek to expand your skillset while increasing your influence across new technologies. Advancement opportunities are key, and we will continue investing in you through training, conferences, and growth initiatives.

You will be comfortable working independently on both backend and frontend tasks and can facilitate effective, collaborative sessions with peers to ensure we deliver the right solutions efficiently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our team’s primary goal is to expand the world-class digital experiences our UK and Irish customers enjoy across the USA. We deliver this across the entire online ordering stack, including:

  • Locate – Discovering restaurant capabilities during online ordering and third-party integrations, ensuring customers and partner systems understand what our restaurants can offer.
  • Menu – Supporting the business in digitally presenting menu items with a seamless, accurate digital experience.
  • Payment – Managing all eCommerce financing, where integrating with our payment provider is critical.
  • Orders – Handling the end-to-end process of taking, processing, and tracking orders to ensure they reach the right restaurant accurately and on time.
  • Loyalty – Rewarding customer loyalty, building programmes and integrations that recognize and retain them.
  • Identity – Managing user sign-ups, logins, and recognition across digital experiences, ensuring security and seamless experiences.

Our frontend applications tie these domains together across web and app platforms, delivering a comprehensive, rich, and consistent customer experience.

As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing these technologies. Your focus is on end-to-end projects, including APIs and frontend integrations across platforms like web and app.
