Head of Applied AI Research Position at Leading Technology Company
Are you ready to make a profound impact on the future of artificial intelligence? Aquent is partnering with a leading global technology company committed to advancing artificial intelligence. Their dedicated foundational AI research group pushes the boundaries of intelligent systems, committed to making fundamental breakthroughs that help us interact with and understand our world.
We are seeking a visionary individual to join this groundbreaking team, where you’ll be instrumental in:
- Solving complex systems challenges
- Accelerating human-level intelligence
- Applying groundbreaking research ideas at unprecedented scale
- Directly influencing real-world applications that shape how we interact with technology
Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research advancing machine learning systems
- Design innovative methods, tools, and infrastructure to stimulate significant progress in large language models
- Collaborate closely with researchers and cross-functional partners:
- Effectively communicate research plans, progress, and results
- Gather and synthesize requirements for the roadmap
- Develop and deliver high-quality code in partnership with engineering teams
- Publish significant research results that directly impact product development

Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in one or more of these technical areas:
- Machine learning
- Recommendation systems
- Pattern recognition
- Data mining
- Artificial intelligence
- Proven ability to develop machine learning models at scale, including:
- Programmatic queries of large language models
- Post-training processes
- Strong programming proficiency in Python
- Practical experience with leading machine learning frameworks
- Capability to write robust software + execute complex experiments with large AI models/datasets
- Track record translating technical insights into actionable business recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields (or equivalent practical experience)

- Direct experience in generative AI and large language model research
- PhD or Master’s degree with research focus in machine learning
