Software Engineer (6-Month Contract Role)

Contract Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Pay Rate: Up to £46.15 per hour
- Hours: 40 hrs/week (PAYE)

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and build features for an internal product, leveraging AI tooling to create innovative solutions
- Contribute to end-to-end technical tasks, making largely independent contributions with minimal assistance
- Independently plan, prioritise, and execute work, identifying and resolving technical issues within project requirements
- Participate in design discussions (with guidance) and contribute to:
- Development
- End-user documentation
- Production deployment and monitoring
- Process automation
- Customer support
- Set up or improve test/monitoring/survey infrastructure or processes, considering:
- Code health
- System maintainability
- Scalability
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, updating it based on product updates and user feedback
- Triage product/system issues, debugging and resolving by analysing sources of impact on operations and quality
- Write product/system development code with minimal assistance
- Conduct comprehensive testing (e.g., integration, performance, stress, security, load, fuzz tests) and design code for easy testability
- Review peer-developed code, providing feedback on:
- Best practices
- Technical accuracy
- Testability
- Efficiency
- Identify and address technical debt to improve long-term maintainability and modifiability

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Software Engineer with full ownership of end-to-end projects
- Full-stack software development experience
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Angular (latest versions)
- TypeScript
- Proven full-stack web development experience, including RESTful API development with:
- Java, Kotlin, or Go -Strong capability in:
- Debugging and resolving complex issues
- Systems thinking
- Test engineering principles and practices
- Solid programming and system design skills
- Ability to perform data analysis and synthesis
- Commitment to code and system health
- Exceptional skills in code comprehension
