Software Engineer
Mid-Level Software Engineer (Golf Course Management Platform) – Belfast, UK

About the Role
We are hiring a Mid-Level Software Engineer for our product and technology team based in Belfast. This position focuses on designing, developing, and evolving the core systems that power our golf course management platform—supporting millions of bookings and transactions annually.
As a mid-level engineer, you will:
- Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
- Take ownership of features and technical initiatives, directly impacting our platform and users.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle while solving complex technical challenges.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers passionate about high-availability systems, payments processing, and modernising legacy platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Build and enhance APIs and backend services supporting web and mobile applications.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
- Deliver high-quality code with robust automated testing.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams for end-to-end feature delivery.
- Ensure reliability, performance, security, and observability of core platform services.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of work items, meeting agreed deadlines.
- Drive continuous improvement of tools, processes, and development standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in backend development using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Experience in cloud-based or distributed environments.
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Advantageous (Nice-to-Have):
- Experience with high-availability, transaction-based systems.
- Background in payments or financial transaction processing.
- Hands-on experience with third-party service integrates or external APIs.
- Knowledge of microservices or event-driven architectures.
- Experience modernising or evolving legacy systems.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Passion for sport, technology, or digital platforms.
