About The Role

As a Software Engineer, you'll build software that supports our Engineering and Operations teams at Williams Racing. You'll work with a highly specialised user base on state of the art simulations, real time data, bespoke analysis tools and operational systems that have a direct impact both in the factory and on the track.

You'll join our Software Development group, made up of teams focused on areas such as Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, and Vehicle Performance. We use the right tools for the job, from C# and C++ desktop applications, to React web apps, Python analysis tools and modern backend services. We're also on a journey to adopt more cloud native technologies and modern data platforms.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Getting to know the needs of a wide range of users across the team
  • Working with users and colleagues to research, build and roll out new software solutions
  • Improving the reliability, performance and scale of existing systems
  • Collaborating with other technology groups to build out our shared data platform and services
  • Helping to streamline our development process so we can deliver more for our users
  • Supporting applications during race weekends where needed
  • Helping to improve software processes across Engineering and Operations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
