Software Engineer
Location: Southampton, England, UK
Type: Temporary - Permanent
About Robosys Automation:
At Robosys Automation, we develop advanced autonomous control and AI navigation systems that are transforming how vessels operate. Our flagship VOYAGER AI enables crewed and uncrewed craft to navigate safely and efficiently across global waters. As we continue to grow internationally, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join our UK team in Southampton and support the delivery of mission-critical marine autonomy systems.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly capable Software Engineer to design and build real-time control and monitoring applications that interface directly with hardware, sensors, and industrial systems. Working closely with systems, controls, and hardware engineers, you will develop high-performance backend software using C# / .NET, operating close to the metal in safety-critical environments. This is not a purely web-based role — it requires strong systems thinking and hands-on problem-solving.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
