Software Engineer
Software Engineer (Java/Python) – National Security
Location: Gloucester | Hybrid
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (+Bonus + Security Clearance Allowance)
We're looking for Software Engineers to join a growing National Security team based in Gloucester. You'll work on cutting-edge, mission-critical projects, developing secure software solutions that have a real impact. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll help design, build and support applications used within some of the UK's most sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions
- Develop back-end applications using Java or Python
- Work with cloud technologies, with AWS preferred (Azure or GCP experience also considered)
- Write clean, secure and well-tested code
- Collaborate within Agile development teams
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

What you’ll need?
- Commercial software development experience using Java or Python
- Experience with cloud platforms – AWS preferred, although Azure or GCP experience is welcomed
- Understanding of software engineering best practices
- Experience working within Agile environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
