Hybrid UK | 2 Days per Week Onsite
We're supporting a leading technology business in the search for a Python Software Engineer to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. Working on an innovative video streaming platform, you'll help maintain and enhance existing products while contributing to new project initiatives within a collaborative Agile environment.
What you'll be doing
- Developing, testing, and maintaining Python applications across the full software development lifecycle.
- Working with existing codebases to troubleshoot, debug, and implement enhancements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Supporting integrations, connectivity, and cloud-connected applications.
- Contributing to a product that operates across video streaming and edge-computing environments.

What we're looking for
- Strong commercial Python development experience.
- Experience across development, testing, code quality, and solution design.
- Ability to work within and improve existing codebases.
- Good SQL and database knowledge.
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and connectivity.
- Basic Linux experience.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and general connectivity concepts.
- Experience working within Agile teams.
Nice to have
- Video streaming, multimedia, FFmpeg, GStreamer, WebRTC, or related technologies.
- Edge computing, embedded systems, or resource-constrained device development.
- Backgrounds in Automotive, ADAS, Telematics, or similar technology sectors.

Additional Information
- Initial 12-month contract with potential extension up to 15 months.
- Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday mandatory).
- Some flexibility may be considered for candidates based further from the office.
- Interview process consists of up to two stages, including a live technical assessment (no take-home exercise).
- Candidates available immediately or on up to one month's notice are preferred.
