Software Engineer IV/V
Location: London, UK Contract: 6+ Months Pay Range: £55–£60/hour (via PAYE, within IR35)
About the Role
We are seeking Research Engineers passionate about driving the next generation of artificial intelligence. You will join a world-class AI research team focused on pioneering machine learning systems, large language models (LLMs), and AI agents that redefine modern AI boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize machine learning systems and AI infrastructure
- Develop and evaluate large language models (LLMs), foundation models, and AI agents
- Implement scalable solutions using Python and PyTorch
- Conduct research-driven experiments, analyze results, and refine performance through data-driven innovation
- Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to transition theoretical research into production-ready solutions
- Contribute to new methodologies, tools, and AI frameworks for next-gen systems

Required Skills
Technical
- Proficiency with Python; hands-on experience with PyTorch (or equivalent deep learning frameworks)
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, or AI agents
- Strong foundation in Machine Learning and Deep Learning theory and applications
- Practical experience designing and executing ML experiments
- Scientific and analytical approach to problem-solving
Education
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
